Yana Hart, an attorney with Hyde & Swigart, APC, focuses in a vast variety of consumer protection issues. Ms. Hart is currently licensed in California and District of Columbia.
In 2012, Yana Hart graduated summa cum laude from Cabrini College. Thereafter, in May of 2015, Ms. Hart received her law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, graduating summa cum laude, Valedictorian. While attending her law school, she was a Law Review Staff Associate, a member of Intellectual Property Law Association, and a member of the Federalist Society. She received CALI Excellence for the Future Highest Grade Awards, Witkin Awards, and Thomas Jefferson School of Law Awards in nearly every subject and maintained consistent standing on the Dean’s Honor Roll. While in law school, Ms. Hart clerked for the Small Business Law Center, where she drafted contracts and advised clients on employment and copyright matters.
Since December of 2016, Ms. Hart has worked for Hyde & Swigart, APC where she thrives on legal research and motion practice. She zealously defends consumers’ rights, researches and pursues novel issues in the law, and litigates complex cases.
Prior to joining Hyde & Swigart, APC, Ms. Hart represented clients with immigration and civil matters. Ms. Hart volunteered countless hours working with the ABA Immigration Project, providing legal assistance and representation to immigrants during their removal proceedings. She also volunteered on weekly basis with the San Diego County Superior Court Small Claims Legal Advisory, where she assisted pro-per litigants in evaluating their cases and providing legal advice. Ms. Hart also participated in a number of free legal clinics and seminars, including the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Legal Clinic at the El Cajon public library, Appellate Workshop at the San Diego County Public Law Library, and a number of immigration-based seminars for immigrant communities.
Ms. Hart also taught legal classes at the San Diego University of Integrated Studies, including Labor and Employment Law, Business Law (consisting of Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law & Procedure, Torts, Property, Contracts) and International Business Law.
