[Attorney Advertising: BofA Customers are Now Applying for a 100% Free and Confidential Claim Evaluation]
Attorneys a Hyde and Swigart, APC and Kazerouni Law Group, APC are investigating possible unfair business practices of Bank of America (“BofA”).
We are assisting BofA Advantage Plus customers who have been charged a $12 service fee after their balance fell below $1,500.
Time to reinstate the $1,500 balance without incurring the $12 service fee.
According to the BofA website, Advantage Plus customers are responsible for the $12 monthly service fee associated with their account. The terms and conditions further state that no fee will be charged each statement cycle that they:
• Have at least one qualifying direct deposit of $250+
• Maintain a $1,500 minimum daily balance
• Are enrolled in Preferred Rewards
According to our investigation, BofA Advantage Plus customers are being routinely advised that if their balance falls below $1,500 they have until 8 pm of the same day to reinstate it. If they do reinstate their balance, no $12 dollar fee will be imposed. What is not being disclosed to them, however, is that if they make a purchase affecting the threshold $1,500 balance after 8 pm, they don’t have until 8 pm of the next day to reinstate it. Instead, they only have until midnight on the same day. Shall they reinstate their balance after midnight – BofA will impose the $12 fee.
This billing scheme, if proven true, would generate significant profits for BofA – all at the expense of its customers.
BofA Advantage Plus customers who have been charged the $12 fee
may be entitled to receive cash refunds and additional compensation for violation of their rights.
BofA Customers Who May Qualify For Compensation:
- Have BofA Advantage Plus banking account
- Made a purchase after 8 pm that made their balance go below $1,500
- Reinstated their balance next day before 8 pm
- Were nevertheless charged $12 fee.
